This bright & colourful handmade patchwork quilt will brighten any room & keep you warm HOW IS IT MADE This quilt has been made from 100% cotton fabrics from the designer Kaffe Fasset (and Kaffe Fasset studios). The amazingly colourful cottons are bold & vivid, & make a stunning design. This quilt has been created using the selvage edge from the fabrics, which is usually discarded, but I have arranged them into this striking design. The selvage contains the information about the fabric designer, pattern & colours. The selvage edge has been left raw which created additional texture & 'fluffiness' for the quilt. The selvages were laid together & sewn onto a backing fabric which was then cut up to create this pattern. The centre square has fabrics arranged on the diagonal, then triangles were added to each side to create a larger square, & this process was repeated, with a silver grey sashing fabric around each shape. Finally a wide border of strips was added. The quilt is layered with cotton blend wadding & backed with super soft grey dimple plush. Machine quilting is used to hold the layers together & highlight the design, & the quilt is hand finished with a wide binding in a slightly darker grey. This quilt truly is a riot of pattern & colour. SIZE This large throw is approx 140 x 140 cm (55 x 55 inches). WHO IS IT FOR This modern quilt would be suitable for older children, teenagers, or adults of any age. Although there is some floral fabrics used in the quilt, the geometic design & colour pallet make this suitable for males & females. CARE INSTRUCTIONS The quilt can be washed on a gentle machine cycle using a colour catcher sheet. Reshape while damp & dry flat.
