Wall art made from recycled skateboards. Diamond shape book-matched pattern fitted to reclaimed pine backing board Fittings for hanging supplied so can be mounted horizontally or vertically depending on preference. This was handmade by me in my Yorkshire based workshop from broken & used skateboards & reclaimed timber. Approximate size: Point to point - lengthways: 35.5cm Point to point - widthways: 21cm Making things from old skateboards isn't easy, I have to source the old boards & collect them. I peel the griptape off, remove the stickers, sand back the graphics, paint & all the lacquer until it's down to bare wood again. Then I can cut to size & laminate together into usable blocks of timber otherwise known to me as skatewood. Then I can make the thing I want to make. It's a lengthy but rewarding process & the results speak for themselves. Each item is unique in lots of ways. Each used skateboard tells the stories of its former life as a plank of wood on wheels being thoroughly enjoyed to destruction by its previous owner.
