Unique vintage mid century painting on ceramic by French artist YOUEN (Yves-Alain Pleuven, 1929-2015) in a gold oval wooden frame. Pleuven was a well known Breton artist who also worked for potteries such as Henriot Quimper. He signed himself Youen & each painting is unique of its kind. The painting features a stylised bird with lots of energy. The painting is in charcoal / black & the feathers & features are picked out in sgraffito etching. Measurements 11 in. x 8.5 in. / 27.5cm x 21.5cm in very good condition, some slight wear to the wooden frame & a little tear in the backing paper.
