The mirror is in good shape with a small amount of wear the glass, a few scratches & a few black dots which is not surprising bearing in mind it is around 90 years old. The edges are where the foxing is at its' most apparent as the centre of the glass is in good condition. this to my mind is a mark of authenticity & adds character. A shield shaped mirror would be perfect in lots of settings as it is simple & elegant & won't clash with any decor. It is a good size & suitable for any room in the house, whether over a hall console, adorning a fire place or acting as a bedroom mirror, literally wherever you fancy! The measurements are 70cm across x 48 cm at the highest point. To manufacture a bevelled edge mirror of this shape would cost 100s today as mirrors are rarely bevelled & need to be manufactured in a specialist factory. It has the original chain on the back which is currently on the long side but the removal of the links will make it fit anywhere. This would be extremely well packaged for protection in the post.
