A 'Moon jar' round ceramic vase with 'Hakeme', a traditional white slip decoration with Hake brush, on black clay. It was hand thrown, hand brushed, & fired at 1250c. Taking inspiration from the rough & wild landscape in the Yorkshire Dales & North York Moors, it was handcrafted locally in Harrogate. Each piece intertwines my Japanese heritage & countryside surroundings to create patterns & glazes which mimic organic textures. The handmade nature of this ceramic moon jar ensures that no two pieces are identical.
