Description

Presented is a lovely sterling silver oval bowl by Frank Whiting. This piece dates to around 1900-1905, the heart of the Art Nouveau time period, & is done very much in that style. The bowl has a beautiful openwork rim designed as flowing, sinuous ribbons, very well done. The center of the bowl is monogrammed 'MLW' in elegant script. The bowl is in great overall condition. There is some surface wear, & some scratches to the interior, which could easily be touched up & buffed out. There are no splits, no dents, no monogram removals, & no repairs. This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the maker's mark for Frank Whiting & 'sterling'. The bowl measures about 13 1/4 by 7 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches (LxWxH).
