Description
Presented is a great quality sterling silver vase made by Durgin shortly after it was taken over by Gorham in the 1920s or 1930s. The sides are largely ribbed & the design is very Art Deco. The base has a fluted design & there is a monogram on the side of the vase reading MSL. The underside of the piece is marked Gorham as well as the old Durgin hallmark, the word Sterling, a product number & Cement Loaded. Though the base is cement loaded, there is very little cement & only accounts for a small fraction of the overall weight of the piece as the base is quite shallow & there is virtually no room to put any other material. The vase has been professionally cleaned & is in virtually mint condition. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals, no repairs & no other problems of any kind. The vase measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the mouth & is 9 3/4 inches tall. The vase weighs 310 grams or 10.9 ounces. Nice 1920S Durgin/Gorham Sterling Art Deco Flower Vase
