Description
This is a charming creamer & sugar set handmade in Poland. Marked on the bottom, the set is comprised of a sweet little cream pitcher & an open double handled sugar bowl. Both pieces have beautiful hand-painted designs in traditional Polish patterns. This is a relatively small set, & the little cream picture is about 3 inches tall & almost 4 inches across from the handle to the spout. The little open sugar bowl is approximately 2 5/8 inches tall & about 5 inches across from handle to handle. Both pieces are stamped on the bottom. There is no lid for the sugar nor any indication that there was a lid. I am selling it as an open sugar. Click here to see a Polish teapot I'm offering: https://etsy.me/3ovC7ly in good preowned vintage condition, The set is beautiful & functional, though u to want to mention that there is a teeny nearly invisible hairline (SEE PICS & VIDEO) around the rim of the creamer. The set is otherwise free of damage or repair. Due to this small apology, I'm selling the set as found/as is & it is priced accordingly based on condition. Please take the time to view all the photos carefully & zoom in to see details. Pictures are an important part of the description, & I assume you have viewed them all before purchasing. Unlike brand new items, my items have been previously owned & will often show signs of use consistent with age of antique & vintage items. Shipping expenses are generally nonrefundable & include insurance. I'm always available if you have questions about anything in my shop, so please don't hesitate to reach out with inquiries or concerns. from the internet: Ceramics has been a part of Bolesawiec & the entire region's history for an extremely long time. Potters & ceramic artists are on record from as early as the 14th century, with the first written record of a potter in the municipal books of widnica in 1380. However, archaeological digs have shown pottery & ceramics from the early Middle Ages, & trading patterns strongly indicate their presence at such an early time. Since the latter part of the 19th century Polish potters started using a new type of lead-free glaze that enabled stamping & allowed for new motifs & designs. Most of the more recognizable designs today, like the repeating circles, scales, flowers, dots, & clovers, were created at that time Polish Pottery regained its status after WWII & is still hand crafted with pride at many small manufacturing companies in Boleslawiec, Poland. All of the pieces are hand painted, using sponge stamp & brushes to paint the art on each piece. All of the patterns are hand-cut by the artists in the sponge & then they use the sponges & brushes to apply the unique pattern to each piece. Sponges are used because they keep the paint wet for a long time, allowing the artist to slowly go around one piece at a time, stamping a unique specific pattern. Several of the artists will create the initial pattern & hand paint a pattern, so all of the artists know what each pattern
