An Early C20th Continental French Inlaid Walnut Bow Fronted Bedside Two Drawer Chest A quality early C20th continental probably French Inlaid Walnut Bow Fronted bedside or bedroom two drawer chest. The chest is made from walnut, which has an amazing colour & grain patination. The chest is formed with it being bow fronted. The top is quarterly veneered & with a thick dark walnut banded edge with Satinwood & ebony stringing. To the front of the cabinet is has various gilt metal mounts depicting flowers, ribbons, these are on the legs, drawer fronts & around the frame. The sides again are quarterly veneered & inlaid like the top. The chest is set with two drawers, which again are Inlaid & veneered like the top. It is raised on shaped legs which slightly splay out at the bottom. The cabinet like a lot of French Louis XV style items doesn’t have any handle but we have a key to help open, but it doesn’t work the lock. The cabinet is a real statement piece & of great quality.
