We buy all our pearls direct from the pearl farmers, picking them ourselves. As they are individual, there will be slight changes in shape & colour - from whites through to pretty greys pinks & yellows when you move them around in the light. Keishi pearls are made naturally by the mollusc in the oyster shell of their own accord, hence the shape. They are naturally forming in their beautiful irregular shape, rather than round. The round pearls are made when an irritant is inserted into the mollusc organism & then the nacre is formed around it. Keshis are special because they are 100% formed naturally with no invasion to the mollusc. The colours that form in the nacre ( nake - kur) are the result of the water currents running through the shell when it feeds in certain waters.
