Antique 18th Century Aubusson tapestry cushion - pillow - Flowers This pillow is made from a panel of Aubusson tapestry border dating from the 1700s. Hand woven in wools & silks. The tapestry has retained its vibrant colour well & depicts flowers . There are old repairs & slits created in the weaving process, the whole in good condition. The tapestry has been backed with a woven fusible interfacing for stability before being applied to toning cotton velvet - also used for the back. Antique wide gold 19th century metallic flat trim has been applied to the horizontal sides & antique French wool tassel trim to vertical sides. There is a new feather cushion pad to the interior Size: 19.5 ins (49.5cm) by 14 ins (35.5cm) - measured seam to seam. Each tapestry pillow is unique - a true 'one-off'.
