I grew up in Wallingford & it was a pleasure to draw all the pubs, ancient & newer. I really enjoyed photographing all the pubs on one of my walks & then arranging & drawing all the interesting old buildings. Using only black & white to show all textures & materials used in buildings is such a great challenge - the bricks & tiles were my favourite thing to ink. I drew this detailed image in pencil before inking with a glass dip-pen & permanent drawing ink. The print will be sent unframed in a postal tube.
