Description
This is a beautiful wooden workbench, originally used in the production of textiles, it was made in England around the 1920's. Unfortunately, there is no way to place its exact age so it could be earlier or later. This industrial piece has a fantastic construction with wooden joints & iron rivets for strength. The lid can be lifted to reveal storage underneath in the form of a void with wooden slats to the base. The top surface looks to have been replaced along with the hinges at some stage but retains plenty of age & wear, allowing it to feel authentic to the piece. There are large iron supports attached to the underside of the work surface which have holes that locate into a notch on the side of the table giving three options for height when propping up the lid. At the bottom of the table there is a small slatted area for storage which likely would have extended across the length of the table originally. It would make a fantastic kitchen island & would add an industrial feel to any space. It measures 162cm wide by 66cm deep & 84.5cm tall. The storage compartment underneath the lid is 12cm tall.
