A rather lovely antique Wescontree art ware vase decorated in a dark blue drip glaze, made by the Great Western Pottery, Newton Abbot, Devon, c.1920s. Around the mid 1930s Wescontree ware was renamed Candy ware & was produced until the 1960s. Marked on the base 'WESCONTREE WARE N A'. This beautiful vase is in good overall antique condition. It has been left as found & shows signs of use on the inside. in addition, there is light crazing on all surfaces, a missing patch of glaze on the base & a chip on the rim which appears to have occurred during production as it's covered by the original glaze.
