A small bud vase to brighten your day. This one features my rose design with a white & grey stripe background. The vase is thrown on my pottery wheel. The decoration is achieved by drawing & painting the design on paper using underglaze & coloured slips. The design is built up in reverse layers. It is then applied to the vase & pushed into the surface. The paper is removed leaving the painting on the vase. Then the piece is bisque fired. After the firing it is sanded & then a clear glaze applied to the inside & parts of the outside, before being returned to the kiln for its final firing.
