A rare one for me, this! Only ever dug one other, that one was broken too, & I don't own a complete one yet. This hundred year old bottle (approx) has been repurposed into a beautiful candle holder or vase with some serious history! It started off as a mineral water bottle, but it's sat broken in the soil for a hundred years, ignored, broken & unloved, until I dug it up, took it home, cleaned it up, sawed the broken neck off, & ground the lip smooth with a variety of grades of diamond grinding disks. It's very imperfect, there are scratches & glorious patina from it being in the soil for a century. Even in it's original condition it has highly irregular glass thinkness, big bubbles in the glass itself, & crude, heavy embossing. Quite murky & full of character & patina this one, but I like the way the patina diffuses the candle light personally Embossed on the front is the brilliatly simple Bull motif & the remains of Julius Peters, Trade Mark, Hull. Love the simplicity of these. Can't wait to own one!
