All pieces, while keeping as much character as possible are planed, sanded & hand finished with the highest quality furniture wax available in a variety of colours. Mounted on two heavy duty industrial style A-frame legs available in black or clear coat steel. (85cm desks supplied with wider legs to match) Drawer interior is glued all round & made from ply, with the front & sides made & finished in the same wood & colour as your desk, fitted using high quality ball bearing soft close runners. Installation is easy, I will pre drill & mark the location of the legs, so with a with a phillips screwdriver you just need to attach the legs with the screws & spacers provided. The underside of the piece will not be fully planed but will be sanded, this enables me to keep the desk as chunky looking as possible, it will also not be fully treated on the bottom to allow the wood to breathe & acclimatise in its new home. This range is made from solid wood & will vary from piece to piece with different grain patterns, tones, splits, twists, saw markings, sap pockets & knots making every piece completely individual & unique. The boards may also not completely flat as the nature of the wide boards make this extremely difficult & it would loose all its character I were too sand each piece flat. Spacers will be supplied in the case of wood movement to avoid rocking. I only use Kiln dried wood as there is no further movement in the wood once I have made your piece, if the timber is not dry it can continue to move & warp after delivery.
