Made by CAVALIER of Sheffield England circa 1920 - 1940. An exceptionally lovely silver-plate (over brass) oval footed serving tray with an ornately engraved scrolled bed & reticulated gallery rail. It is in very good condition & requires only the occasional buff with quality proprietary polish to keep it looking this fine. The base & lower side shows signs of wear to the metal & bun feet (see photo 4) however it does not compromise the beauty of the visible upper parts & I mention it only for accuracy. Perfectly suited for those special occasions & it also works very well as an imposing display stand. The tray is robust, reassuringly heavy & with the makers' mark to the underneath.
