Vintage Asian Bowl. A wonderful utilitarian bowl made from stoneware clay with a light gray glaze, almost a putty color. The bowl has an etched like design of wavy & straight lines with small dots all around the outside, this has been accomplished by waxing the design before the glaze dipping thus resisting the glaze onto the raw clay when fired. The bowl has no recognizable makers mark, however it does have a mark on the base which could be either a kind of Asian character or possibly a Middle Eastern character. The size of the bowl is around 7 inches in diameter & about 3 inches deep & it is in wonderful vintage condition. It has a rustic charm or an art pottery style making it blend well with tableware with a similar look. Use as a small serving bowl for dips or salsa or use as a cereal or soup bowl for oneself. we do have plates with a similar style, see our other listings or contact us.
