This vase was hand-built in my studio in Vilnius out of German clay & fired in an Anagama kiln using orthodox techniques for 120 hours in temperatures reaching 1300oC. The ware is covered in pine ash-glaze & so the textures & colours vary greatly depending on where the ash landed & concentrated during the firing. Ranging from matte to semi-glossy & back to rough ash. By studying the piece you can clearly see the direction from where the ash & flames engulfed & marked it. The piece is completely food safe.
