Description

A charming prie dieu saved from the once private chapel of a chateau in southern France. This was used as both a chair & kneeler. The top & the back of the chair has the name of the Chateau carved into it - 'A.Meynardie' carved into it. Made from a fruit wood. This was one of a set of three. There are two available. Circa 1880s. This chair is in good vintage condition with a lovely worn patina, there is some slight damage to the top of the chair but it is structurally sound & sturdy. The rushed seats are in good vintage condition! The chair has had historic woodworm & has been treated & filled (see examples of this in photograph 10).
