An absolute gem of a coffee table produced by Pieff of Worcestershire. Pieff were known for their amazing mid century design being one of the leaders in glass & chrome furniture. This is one of their rarest designs with removable legs which slot snuggly over the glass disc that makes this coffee table look so good. The legs are very chunky & quite heavy with a superb piece of glass that has stood up well to around 50 years of use. Produced around the 1960-70’s period it’s a mid century classic & are not often seen for sale. This one had been owned by the same family all its life before we purchased it. Obviously there are signs of use with small amounts of tarnish around the rubbers that hold the glass in place & some small scratches to the chrome though not overly visible. Although the rubbers could be replaced we’ve left them in place as they are original & are still in good condition fitting very well to the table top. There are small scratches over the glass top which you’d expect being a mid century piece. It stands exceptionally well in a room & is of a nice size to make a big impact in any room. The smoked glass refracts the sunlight into a beautiful pattern on the floor too which is another nice feature of this table. Overall, a nice condition very rare item from a sought after British maker, it always drawers comments from visitors when we’ve had it displayed. Measurements are: 90cm circumference H35cm We use a private courier to ensure safety of delivery though this can take 2 to 3 weeks depending on your location.
