This is a superb pair early 20th Century reproduction George III Regency brass candle sticks dating to around 1900-1910. With the change from florid, rococo Victorian tastes, simpler designs came back into fashion & this pair were cast at a small foundry in Birmingham using original Regency moulds. Very solid & heavy, they are of ovoid form with a concave ringed foot. The columns are elegantly tapered with 'urn' bases & wide, flat drip rings. in wonderful antique condition, well cast with some tiny surface marks, dings & polishing wear reflecting their age & long use, but no notable damage. Clean inside with a few old polish remnants in the grooves as shown. As found, bautifully patinated with a deep, buttery "old brass" colour impossible to find in modern reproductions. Approximately 16.5cm tall with 10.5cm x 8cm bases. Total weight 906g. Maximum candle tip size about 20mm. Please have a good look at all the photos. A rare antique pair suitable for Period or Modern Decor, they would look gorgeous on a Georgian mantle piece, the dining table or in the Boudoir!
