Des Loan was an accomplished potter, English teacher, orchardist, & town councillor who arrived in the Okanagan Valley in 1955 with his wife Peggy & five children. He was a dedicated contributor to the cultural life of the Valley, having established the Okanagan Pottery Studio on Highway 97 in Peachland in 1968, which operated until 2007.
