The Beni Ourain tribe, from where the rug takes its name from, is well known for having produced not only some of the most durable, high quality wool carpets but most importantly a completely unique & well distinct form of art on carpets. For millenia the Berber women have devoted themselves to crafting the art of hand-weaving to create the perfect carpets for both utility against the mountains harsh weather conditions & as a mean for their creative expression purposes. To create these astounding rugs, the Berbers use only pure wool produced from their own flocks. These rugs are stricly hand made. Every rug is one of a kind, each design enclosing a narrative of the weaver's personal life experiences or references to the day to day life events such as birth, marriage, spirituality & rural life. Many members of the Beni Ourain tribe also believe that such designs have protective powers aginst evil & negative energy. Our carpets have all been imported directly from the Atlas mountains & have been selected amongst 100s of other rugs with the sole aim of bringing you the very best & only authentic articles.
