These coffee mugs feature the Nickel Plate 767 steam locomotive. The image is heat treated onto the mug & will not peel or wash off, making it dishwasher & microwave safe! Additionally the image is identically duplicated on BOTH SIDES of the mug. Though the 765 train is the only surviving Nickel Plate steam locomotive operating today, she was once accompanied by 79 sister engines charged with moving fast freight & passenger trains between Chicago, Fort Wayne & Buffalo, New York. These engines soon became icons of the railroad & ubiquitous throughout the system. For just the year 2016, the Fort Wayne Historical Society honored the special history of sister steam train 767 by renumbering the 765 steam train to 767 & making cosmetic changes such as adding the mars light, which oscillate to catch the attention of motorists & pedestrians.
