Description
This is a beautiful antique pedestal compote made by The International Silver Company in 1921. The underside has a debossing of King George III identifying it. What a stunning centerpiece or serving dish this would make. It has been polished to a degree, but the ornate baroque edges still have their gorgeous patina. It is solid & heavy, made of silver plate. The base is simple & elegant as it graduates up to the stem of the pedestal. The bowl on top is incredibly ornate & detailed. This piece speaks for itself. There are no dents & this is in wonderful condition for its 100+ year old age. There are some surface scratches in the bowl, but in no way do they detract from this piece. It measures 6 inches tall & the 'bowl' on top is 9 1/8 inches wide. The base diameter is 3 3/8 inches across. Polished or unpolished & left to develop a rich patina, this is a real statement piece.
