I've been in the clock business since the 1980s, in that time I've amassed a large quantity of spares, including clock surrounds. I have been wondering what to do with them & I came up with the idea of turning them into mirrors, & I have to say that the result is a fantastic looking vintage wall mirror. This surround came from a 1960s Metamec Starburst clock. The mirror is made from Perspex/Plexiglass, this makes the unit less expensive to send & the mirror is unbreakable, so no bad luck if you drop it!! The mirror is laser cut so has polished edges which are not sharp. Perspex mirrors are every bit as good as a glass mirror. The frame is brushed aluminium & wood effect.
