WMF Jugendstil Domed Silver Plated Porcelain Coffee Set; Coffee Pot, Sugar & Creamer. Stunning. Stunning for its quality; style, & condition. Silver is a wonderful medium for catching & reflecting light, & this sets spiralling ribs catch the light in such a way as to make the silver appear liquid & flow. Both Silver & Porcelain are in superb condition. If I have a criticism, it is that it almost seems to good to use. Jugendstil, is German for Art Nouveau, widely used circa 1890-1910. WMF are one fo the worlds most famous & greatest silversmiths. Founded in 1853 by Daniel Straub, a miller from Geislingen, & the Schweizer Brothers to form the Metallwarenfabrik Straub & Schweizer in Geislingen. The company was renamed WMF Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik after a merger with Ritter & Co in 1880. Dimensions: Coffee Pot 28cm H, 22.5cm L, 12.5cm W.
