This beautiful handmade vase is a wheel thrown piece made in my home studio in the north east of England, i then hand glaze before the raku firing. This is a one of a kind piece of raku art ! It holds its own as a standalone statement piece! Raku pottery originated from ancient Japanese tea ceremonies. Pieces are heated to 1000C, taken out of the kiln & plunged into a fire pit of wood shavings or decorated with various materials. Totally unpredictable results each piece really is unique. We always recommend extra care with unique handmade items. Materials: Grogged stoneware, & a mixture of horse hair, dog hair, pheasant & peacock feathers Colors: Lead-free & food safe.
