Description
1966 History of Mail Transport Poster, Trains, GPO, General Post Office, by Michael Heslop, Royal Mail, SPWDC3, decor wall art This is a 1966 post office poster, the fourth in a series showing the History of Mail Transport, the trains. Dimensions: 30.3 in x 20.1 in (77 cm x 51 cm) The General Post Office (GPO) was the state postal system & telecommunications carrier of the United Kingdom until 1969. Before the Acts of Union 1707, it was the postal system of the Kingdom of England, established by Charles II in 1660. Similar General Post Offices were established across the British Empire. in 1969 the GPO was abolished & the assets transferred to The Post Office, changing it from a Department of State to a statutory corporation. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. When framed these colourful & detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection. See the FAQ for more information on shipping, tracking & insurance options. 1966 History Of Mail Transport Poster, Trains, Gpo, General Post Office, By Michael Heslop, Royal Mail, Spwdc3, Decor Wall Art
