1970s Capri Italy Travel Poster, island paradise, bright & bold seventies colours, travel tourism, holiday vacation, wall art decor This is a charming original Italian travel poster from the island of Capri, Italy, & shows island with bold & bright purples & blues. This poster has a battered look. Printed by: A travel poster printed in Italy in the 1970s by Capri Tourist Office. Dimensions: 27 x 19 in (68 x 19 cm) Condition: significant tear top middle edge, some fold marks & edge damage, see photos. Capri is an island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrento Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of Italy. The main town Capri that is located on the island shares the name. It has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic. Some of the main features of the island include the Marina Piccola (the little harbour), the Belvedere of Tragara (a high panoramic promenade lined with villas), the limestone crags called sea stacks that project above the sea (the faraglioni), the town of Anacapri, the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas, & the vistas of various towns surrounding the Island of Capri including Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento, Nerano, & Naples. Capri is part of the region of Campania, Metropolitan City of Naples. The town of Capri is a comune & the island's main population centre. The island has two harbours, Marina Piccola & Marina Grande (the main port of the island). Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. When framed these colourful & detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed.
