Sophisticated Guinness Poster, by Erte 1974, Opulant Mermaids & Greek Freizes, Advertising campaign Wall art retro decor This is an outstanding & rare Guinness poster by Erte (Russian born French artist & designer Romain de Tirtoff) from 1974, showing an opulantly dressed mermaid forming colourful figures in a Greek Freize. Dimensions: 10 in x 28.5 in (25 cm x 72 cm) Condition: pinholes & a fold mark, see photos Erte was an artist & designer in an array of fields including fashion, jewellery, graphic arts, costume & set design for film, theatre, opera & interior decor. Between 1915 & 1937 he designed over 200 covers for Harpers Bazaar & his illustrations appeared in Cosmopolitan & Vogue. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. When framed these colourful & detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed.
