1977 Arshile Gorky Poster, Portrait of Ahko, Abstract Expressionism, Armenian American painter, wall art decor This is a 1977 poster of Arshile Gorky's Portrait of Ahko from an exhibition in London at the Serpentine Gallery. Dimensions: 23.5 in x 16.5 in (60 cm x 42 cm) Arshile Gorky was an Armenian-American painter who had a seminal influence on Abstract Expressionism. He spent the last years of his life as a national of the United States. Along with Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock & Willem de Kooning, Gorky has been hailed as one of the most powerful American painters of the 20th century. The suffering & loss he experienced in the Armenian genocide had crucial influence at Gorky's development as an artist. What is special about exhibition & gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced. Because of the age of these posters & their history, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The posters are traditionally folded up & with their age are creased. The good news is that when framed, the creases & tears press up well against glass, & any rough edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
