Mary Cassatt was an American painter & printmaker. She was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania (now part of Pittsburgh's North Side), but lived much of her adult life in France, where she befriended Edgar Degas & exhibited with the Impressionists. Cassatt often created images of the social & private lives of women, with particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers & children. She was described by Gustave Geffroy as one of les trois grandes dames (the three great ladies) of Impressionism alongside Marie Bracquemond & Berthe Morisot. What is special about exhibition & gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm. These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection. See the FAQ for more information on shipping, tracking & insurance options. 1988 Children Playing On The Beach Poster, By Mary Cassett 1884, National Gallery Of Art, Artist Gallery Exhibition, Wall Art Decor
