This original Edvard Munch poster is from the Munch Museet in Oslo, Norway, featuring Red & White from 1894. Two facets of love that are most depicted by Munch were passion & purity. Those were the two types of love seen, that of God (purity, Virgin Mary etc.) & passion (of the flesh, of the woman etc.). Munch depicts a woman as love... his love is enveloped with passion (red) & purity (white). Without which, most find themselves helpless in love. Published by LEM Milano Printed in Italy Dimensions: 23.5 in x 27.5 in (60 cm x 70 cm) Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter. His best known work, The Scream, has become one of the iconic images of world art. Studying at the Royal School of Art & Design in Kristiania (today's Oslo), Munch began to live a bohemian life under the influence of the nihilist Hans Jger, who urged him to paint his own emotional & psychological state ('soul painting'). From this emerged his distinctive style. What is special about exhibition & gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm. These posters are sent as unframed.
