Large Guinness Poster, Thinking about a Guinness?, imposing & unique 1970s advertising, ale Irish stout beer, retro wall art This is a large & dominant Guinness advertising poster from the 1970s which shows a three panel section of a man pouring a Guinness, through to drinking it. It comes with the strapline "Thinking about a Guinness?". This poster experiments with split screen technique which was a popular advertising method in the 60's. It was printed in London, Great Britain by Sanders Phillips & Co Ltd. Guinness is a dark Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness at St. James's Gate, Dublin, Ireland, in 1759. It is one of the most successful alcohol brands worldwide, brewed in almost 50 countries, & available in over 120. It is popular with the Irish, both in Ireland & abroad. in spite of declining consumption since 2001, it is still the best-selling alcoholic drink in Ireland where Guinness & Co. Brewery makes almost €2 billion worth of beer annually. Many of the best known Guinness television commercials of the 1970s & 1980s were created by British director, Len Fulford. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. When framed these colourful & detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard backed envelope for protection. See the FAQ for more information on shipping, tracking & insurance options.
