Signed Karpov Poster, 1987 Chess World Championship, Kasparov Vs Karpov, Arabic Moor, Seville, Chess Grandmasters Tournament, wall art decor This original Moorish Spain style poster has been signed by Anatoly Karpov in a thick black pen. The poster is for the 1987 Chess World Championship between Anatoly Karpov & Garry Kasparov in Seville, Spain in October 1987. A chance to own something very unique, personally signed by the towering Grand Master himself. Dimensions: 16.5 in x 12 in (42 cm x 30 cm) Condition: Laminated to protect the signature, some white wear marks, see photos. The 1987 World Chess Championship was played between Anatoly Karpov & Garry Kasparov in Seville from October 12 to December 19, 1987. Before the 24th game, Kasparov was down 12-11, but in the 24th game, Kasparov made a comeback by using the English Opening to win the final game to retain his title. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm. These posters are sent as unframed.
