Description
Vintage Shell Guide to Life on the Road Poster, botanical & zoological, educational wall art by John Leigh Pemberton 1950s This is an original 1955 poster from the Shell Oil Company to explain what Life on the Moor was like. It explains the types of fauna & flora in the picture, & identifies & describes what each is like. It is from a series that show different natural habitats. "You can be sure of Shell, the key to the Countryside" John Loftus Leigh-Pemberton AFC (1911–1997) was an artist & illustrator from the United Kingdom, best known for his book illustrations. Note black trim on top & bottom, with some paper loss on bottom right, but trims should mean you can frame without any substantive loss. Because of the age of these posters, & their use in the classroom, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. When framed these colourful & detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. This poster will be rolled up & delivered in a cardboard tube for protection. See the FAQ for more information on shipping, tracking & insurance options.
