This quality Antique Albert Chain features a T-bar drop & double dog clip fastening, with subtle multi-tone alternating curb links. An albert chain is a decorative chain, originally used to attach a pocket watch to the wearer's clothing. The chain was named after Prince Albert, who was said to have been fond of wearing watch chains. The Dog clip would have been used to attach the pocket watch too & the second clip would attach a fob or pendant. The T-Bar would go through the button hole of a waistcoat to secure in place. Today these are often worn as necklaces & the clips can be used to hang pendants from around the neck. This is a quality example of a multi-tone Albert chain which would make a great addition to any collection.
