Hand sewn cushion cover made from Barbara Brown's iconic geometric 1973 design for Heals. ...Explaining that her geometric textile designs were based on machines & architecture, Brown created optical illusions using mathematical formulae to suggest a sense of motion. Other tricks included employing strongly contrasting areas of light & shade to give a three-dimensional effect. ( quote from the Heals website ) The back has been sewn in a beige linen & it has been piped in a matching blue cotton. All the seams have been double sewn & four stitched overlocked for strength. The cushion has a concealed zip on the reverse fbeneath the piping for ease of opening.
