Description
Contemporary Japanese style noodle & ramen bowl in my lemon zest glaze. Comes complete with set of black composite chopsticks & a chopstick rim rest design. Thrown in a white stoneware clay. This is a listing for one individual noodle bowl. Dishwasher & microwave safe. Approximate size of this bowl is 175 mm diameter x 70 mm high It probably doesn't need saying but like all studio pottery (as opposed to factory made pottery) each item is individually thrown, glazed & fired so it can be expected that every item will be unique in itself even if one of a batch. I am largely self-taught, & have pickup up plenty of hints from my many mistakes over the years, developing my skills, & turning what began as a hobby into my full-time occupation. The majority of my work is for restaurants, hotels & other commercial enterprises, but after a health scare in the last couple of years, I realised that on the one hand I needed to dial back on the long hours, & on the other, needed to express my own creativity, & 'play' again. Hence I have created these one-off, individual pieces that I am now selling on Etsy. These are fun, unique pieces, which I am making simply for the joy of it. I hope you take as much pleasure from them as I do! All my work is thrown, glazed & fired by me, with no assistant, or apprentice. I use New Zealand-built wheels, & have four, for different coloured clays (buff, white, terracotta & black/chocolate, if you were curious). I use a pugmill to make the clay soft, & have three electric kilns. My dream is to be able to use my wood-fired kiln more, when I have time to manage it properly. I use a wheel to make all my work, with a very few exceptions, which are always clearly marked. Glazes are sometimes my own creations, or created from other recipes & sometimes bought-in mixtures. Thank you for showing an interest in my work. Contemporary Ceramic Lemon Zest Noodle Bowl With Chopsticks, Yellow Stoneware Bowl
