In this listing we are pleased to offer an original vintage Sydney (Australia) promotional poster printed on linen (so not a paper poster backed on linen but the image printed on linen). Officially destined as a tea towel but these often end(ed) up on the wall as they are considered too beautiful to be stained. The towel shows drawn images of Sydney's landmarks: Hydrofoil boat, the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Australia Square, El Alamein Fountain/Kings Cross & Centrepoint Tower. The style & colors are very late 1970s/early 1980s. 100% pure linen. The bottom line text states that the towel was printed with Fast Colors & that it is a registered design by Citer Australia. Citer was Australia's foremost importer/wholesaler of touristic items. There is a little hook label on the back side that states that this towel was made in Poland. It looks like the Australian tourist trade, that initially had a contract with Lamont of Ireland (see our other listings) changed supplier somewhere in the 1970s. Measurements: Height: 78 cm / 30.71 inches Width: 45 cm / 17.72 inches Condition: Very good excellent condition. Colors in great condition. Entirely free from stains, smells or other signs of age & use. Never used in the kitchen as a tea towel. By our best judgement we would say it was washed a few times. The linen is mildly dry. The white is still fresh (natural linen). Please refer to the pictures to get the best impression.
