Studio pottery lidded jar or trinket box. This nicely thrown & well proportioned jar is presented in a speckled grey ground with hand brushed motif in a brown/ black tenmoku glaze to the lid. The jar is unmarked & the maker unknown. The jar is in excellent condition & appears not to have been used. It has probably been a cabinet piece. The jar stands 3.5 (9 cm) tall.
