Antique Georgian Mahogany Fold Over Tea Table. Please note, items placed on or around this item are not included in sale, sale is for the table only. A charming table in a lovely condition. We are delighted to bring to you this lovely Georgian fold over top tea table believed to be made around C1820. This lovely table is in a fine original condition which we have just enhanced by sympathetically restoring this table preserving the lovely lightly faded rich Mahogany colour & original polished finish. The top of this table folds over on its original brass hinges to reveal a larger polished top table surface which rests on a rear leg which folds out on a finger joint. There has been some historic repairs carried out on this leg but the leg is operating smoothly & is in good solid condition. This table has square tapering legs with a Boxwood & Ebony inlaid stringing around the top of the legs & the bottom of the frieze which finishes to a smoothly operating centre drawer with turned mahogany knob. The table is in great condition for its age which is all complete with nothing missing or broken. There is no movement or play in the joints as the table is being normally used, the top is flat with no bowing or twisting & smoothly folds over. This table has a small overall form yet is versatile from having a fold-over top managing to comfortably seat 2 chairs for use as a tea table or even a breakfast table. Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump & repair here & there. The table has had some historic repairs in the past but is all solid & ready to use. We feel that these points are which adds charm & character to a piece.
