On Dec. 21, 2020, the winter solstice, & the Great Conjunction between Jupiter & Saturn, I did a spiritual working while embellishing this piece. I was getting ready to light a candle for solstice & the ideas for this piece started flowing in. The conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn on the solstice has been described as ushering in a new era of balance between the feminine & the masculine. My 'fiber' brain kicked in, & I wanted to physically weave them together. Hmm, this would be cool to do on a Kabbalah tree of life glyph. Then I remembered that this banner was already done, it was the perfect size, & I had been planning to add something to it anyway. So, we have the energy (yarn) from the supernals (Keter, Chochmah & Binah) meeting in Tiferet, & then braided together as they flow down the tree to our world, Malkuth. The 3 yarns were spun on Shavuot (5/29/2020 - Jewish holiday commemorating the receiving of the Torah), while chanting the divine name for each sphere. Once all 3 were stitched to the center (last photo) I set the intention: For the sake of the unification of the Holy One & the Shekinah, God & Goddess.' (prayer from Kohenet siddur) & then chanted the Shema three times before I started braiding. May this piece help bring healing to the world. Wonderful addition to a meditation room, altar, office or treatment space. Dimensions: 10 x 7.5 Note - Hanging cord adds about 3-4 inches to the height.
