This is a one-off hand built, pottery, stoneware white mug with a stunning abstract design in a vibrant red glaze. Perfect for waking up to with your morning tea or coffee This mug has been twice fired at over 1200 degrees Centigrade & is Dishwasher, microwave & food safe. This is a medium sized mug with a 250ml / 8 fl.oz capacity Height: 8cm (3.5) . Diameter: 7cm (3) To see other items in my shop visit: https://www.etsy.com/shop/lorishaul in case you are interested in the making process: The mugs are handmade using a traditional hand building method of rolling out clay slabs & leaving them for several hours to become 'leather hard' at which point, the clay can be cut & formed & the handles & base attached. The mugs then dry for 2-3 days before going into the kiln for 24 hours for their bisque firing. After this they get four coats of glaze & go back into the kiln for another 24 hours for their glaze firing. Seems like a long time & a lot of work & it is, BUT it is always incredible to see a beautiful, functional object produced from a lump of wet clay!
