Fused Glass Robin Suncatcher - sparkly version. This delightful little robin is the perfect size to hang on a Christmas tree, or you can hang it in a window, from your car mirror, or in any well-lit location that shows off the amazing colours & textures. (The sparkly effect works best when light reflects off it rather than shining through it - see photos.) It's not just for Christmas of course; you can display it all year round, & it also makes a lovely memorial keepsake - robins appear when loved ones are near. Each robin is made from the highest-quality glass & the colours will not fade, even in direct sunlight. 2.5 inches (6 cm) wide 2 inches (5 cm) tall Ready to hang - a hanging wire is attached. Length approximately 6 inches (15 cm). If you would like a hanging wire of a different length, please ask when ordering. Each robin is supplied in a free organza pouch (see photo) so it makes an ideal gift. Please note that each robin is individually handmade, & the glass I make them from varies from sheet to sheet, so your robin may vary slightly from the one in the photos. Be sure to check out my other Christmas gifts & ornaments! https://www.etsy.com/shop/lorrainecoramglass HOW IT'S MADE: I cut each piece of glass from large sheets that I choose specially for each project. I then lay the coloured pieces onto a clear glass backing to create the design, then fire it in my kiln for at least 24 hours. This fuses the pieces together & gives them a pleasing rounded appearance. After checking them over, they go back into the kiln for a second firing to give them extra depth & shine. Each robin is thoroughly checked, given a good wash & polish, & I then add the hanging wire & my personal logo/tag to finish it off. Each finished robin is wrapped in tissue paper & securely packaged for shipping. CARING FOR YOUR FUSED GLASS: This is a fragile glass product & should be treated with care. Please do not hang it where it will get knocked or buffeted by the wind, or where it is likely to fall. It is intended for indoor use, but it can be used outdoors in sheltered locations. I recommend bringing it indoors in frosty or windy weather. The glass can be gently wiped with a damp, soft cloth & dried with a soft, lint-free cloth or kitchen towel.
