Here is a classic vintage fat lava jug vase by Carstens of West Germany. Dating to the 1960s it is the pattern 0882-14 model in crimson matt lave glaze over a dark brown sheen glazed base. The vase is covered little craters & runs where the lava glaze has bubbled & run in the kiln. Standing 14cm tall, 12cm in diameter at the bottom, an outer neck diameter of 5cm & an internal neck diameter of 3cm. The interior is lined in brown glaze. The base has the Carstens twin houses mark on the base. It is in good vintage condition with one very small chip on the base rim as shown in the last photo. This cannot be seen when in normal use.
