This is a decorative sea turtle miniature, made from Devon driftwood, & mounted in an open box frame. I collect the driftwood from the beaches of Sidmouth, Devon where I live. I then wash it, & let it dry naturally. The driftwood is glued into place, & I build it up in layers to produce a small, intricate three dimensional piece. I give the wood a few coats of varnish to protect, & bring out the natural colour of the wood. The frame has a fitting on the back, so it is ready to hang, & would make a lovely addition to any room. Each item I make is unique, & you will receive the piece that is pictured. This is signed front & back by the artist, & is numbered - this is #3 in this series of miniatures. This is a smaller sized work of mine. Total frame size is 25cm ( 9 3/4 inches) wide, 25cm ( 9 3/4 inches) high, & the depth is 3.25cm (1 1/4 inches). The sea turtle itself is 16cm (6 1/4 in.) wide, & 9.5cm (3 3/4 in.) high. I also have a range of other pieces available in the 'Driftwood Wall Art' section of my Etsy shop.
